PAPERBACK and UTRECHT are pleased to announce the launch of ZINE’S MATE / THE TOKYO ART
BOOK FAIR 2009, Japan’s first large-scale art book fair. Occupying two venues in Jingumae, Tokyo,
a gathering of more than 150 domestic and international arts publishers, gallery presses, zine and
artists’ bookmakers.
In addition the fair will include the following micro-exhibitions:
JAPANESE ARTISTS' BOOKS AND ZINES LIBRARY presented by PAPERBACK
Curated book-shelves full of artist books and zines by:
Eye Yamataka, Tomoo Gokita, Masayuki Shioda, Misaki Kawai, Ai Tsuchikawa & Ryohei Kobayashi.
100 + NIEVES ZINES, presented by NIEVES
NIEVES, one of the most talked about names in European publishing, presents a retrospective of
all the zines it has published since 2004.

BROOKLYN ZINES presented by PRINTED MATTER
Printed Matter, Inc., the artists' bookstore from New York City, and the world's largest purveyor
of artists' publications, presents a selection of zines from the wilds of Brooklyn.
